When I first saw jinfengopteryx n1 by ~hannay1982 I thought it was simply a photo of an actual skeleton or resin cast, even at full view I couldn't tell. It wasn't until I looked through his gallery and saw the work in progress shots I realized that this is a real sculpture. The detail and precision with which each bone has been sculpted is staggering. ( Suggested by Pyritie and Featured by Thebuild )

Well, that's one awesome piece of work you've got here. I was pretty amazed when I found out it wasn't even an actuall skeleton - sure looks like one.

AMAZING! I thought this was a taxidermy mock up using different animal skeletons to make this dino because the bones look so real and fresh, the fact that it was sculpted is very impressive.

Out of CLAY?? Geezus, I've worked with clay a few times and I know it's incredibly hard to get it to hold up on it's own. (A lot of waiting for pieces to stiffen). This must have taken an extreme amount of patience and talent. I have to ask, did you use any kind of support? Like wire or something to help hold it's shape?

jiminy. it reminds me of these perfectly photorealistic drawings you see sometimes.. it's like.. how weird is that?.. making a perfect recreation, even extremely similar in actual composition, of something else.. without in-progress pictures it's indistinguishable from the real thing.. it's almost pointless, yet SO impressive..
